The Compass focuses on four key dimensions: Digitally Skilled People and Professionals, Secure and Sustainable Digital Infrastructures, Digital Transformation of Businesses, and Digitalisation of Public Services. Ambitious goals support these priorities, including ensuring that at least 80 % of adults have basic digital skills, widespread adoption of cloud, AI, and data technologies by companies, universal access to high-speed networks, and fully online public services, including universal e-health records.

The Madeira Digital Transformation Summit aligns with this European vision by providing a high-level forum to discuss and debate the EU's digital strategy, translating ambitious policy objectives into relevant pathways.
