About
The European Commission has articulated a clear vision for Europe's Digital Decade, anchored in the Digital Compass — a strategic framework setting concrete targets to make Europe fit for the digital age by 2030. The Compass focuses on four key dimensions: Digitally Skilled People and Professionals, Secure and Sustainable Digital Infrastructures, Digital Transformation of Businesses, and Digitalisation of Public Services. Ambitious goals support these priorities, including ensuring that at least 80 % of adults have basic digital skills, widespread adoption of cloud, AI, and data technologies by companies, universal access to high-speed networks, and fully online public services, including universal e-health records.
The Madeira Digital Transformation Summit aligns with this European vision by providing a high-level forum to discuss and debate the EU's digital strategy, translating ambitious policy objectives into relevant pathways. The DTSummit brings together distinguished representatives from the European Commission, governments, academia, industry, and wider stakeholder communities to explore how these strategic objectives can be implemented in practice. With a strong focus on human-centric digital transformation, the event fosters dialogue across policy, technology, skills, inclusion, and innovation.
Participants engage in forward-looking discussions on emerging needs and expectations, share insights on technological developments and innovative solutions, and exchange experiences to accelerate digital empowerment of citizens and organisations. The DTSummit aims to create the conditions for growth, innovation, competitiveness on fair terms, and climate-neutral digital solutions — fully aligned with the EU's vision for a prosperous, inclusive, and secure digital society.
Held biannually, the DTSummit is now in its third edition and has firmly established itself as a key platform for strategic dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange in Europe's ongoing digital transformation journey.
